The Africa Green Energy Project Of The Year will be awarded to a company in the hydrogen and green energy sector which stood out during the previous 12 months by implementing or advancing an impactful energy project across the continent through: 

• Innovation - through business innovation and creativity, the organisation that has made a positive change in the hydrogen and green energy industries

• Activities - the organisation that made an excellent contribution to the industry in Africa and proved to be an industry leader in any specific part of the hydrogen value chain

• Knowledge - through people development, the organisation expanded knowledge and learning in the commercial or technical aspects of the hydrogen sector.

The Namibian Hydrogen Project Of The Year will be awarded to a company which stood out during the previous 12 months by advancing the hydrogen sector in Namibia and making an impact on the ground: 

• Innovation - through business innovation and creativity, the organisation that has made a positive change in the hydrogen and green energy industries

• Communities and Youth - the organisation that made strides into promoting engagement with communities and youth  

•  Local Content and Knowledge Transfer- through people development, the organisation that expanded knowledge and learning in the commercial or technical aspects of the hydrogen sector.

The Hydrogen Innovation And Technology Award will be given to a company that has developed outstanding technologies or innovations that are at the forefront of the hydrogen and green energy sector. The key criteria are: 

• Innovation - through business innovation and creativity, the organisation that has made a positive change in the hydrogen and green energy industries

• Technology Impact – new technologies advancing the industry and making a significant impact for the uptake of clean energies and hydrogen solutions 

• Technology Transfer – a company committed to share and transfer technology through partnerships and collaboration with local players 

The Woman in Hydrogen Of The Year Award will recognise an outstanding woman who’s driving the industry forward through serious impact and breaking ceilings in the industry as a role model. The Global African Hydrogen Summit aims to promote women's empowerment and participation in the sector through a balanced and inclusive agenda.

The Future Leader Of The Year Award recognises an African individual who has excelled in the hydrogen and green energy sectors and demonstrated the potential of being a future leader. This award aims to recognise the role that youth play in shaping and developing clean energies across the continent as well as an outstanding individual who leads an active role in the industry.

The Communities Engagement Of The Year Award will be given to a company or institution who has been actively engaging, nurturing and building opportunities for the local communities within the hydrogen projects. As critical project stakeholders, the communities are vital to the success and future of clean energy production in Africa. This award will recognise the company whose projects have been more innovative or impactful to the communities. 

The Local Content Champion Of The Year Award will be presented to a stakeholder within the hydrogen and clean energies who continues to implement strategies and initiatives in-line with the fundamental local content policies through:

• Value creation or addition to the national economies
• Development of capacity
• Utilisation of human capacity, material resources and services
• Providing opportunities for local businesses and citizens within the hydrogen and green energy value chain
